30 Days of LEGO Creativity

Somewhere between the prolonged arrival of our baby, the long apprehensive nights and the keen enjoyment of Social Media – I found a very cool little pin on the social media streams. It’s not the first I’ve seen of these or by any means the slickest (or, ironically the best illustrated!), but it gave me a cool idea to reflect on that which I’m thankful for whilst awaiting baby…

So in my moment of weakness, forgive me for sucoming to one of these little Internet challenges: I found a ’30 Days of Drawing’ for November. Each day, a suggestion of something for me to draw. I do enjoy drawing – but it doesn’t really depict my character. That’s when the idea came to me, to do the challenge in LEGO.

Now – hear me out – there is one common misconception surrounding my LEGO obsession. I do enjoy the bricks and the construction of the buildings and the like – but really my obsession surrounds specifically the LEGO Minifigures. So, these photos will surround the LEGO Minfigures in context, rather than abstract LEGO building creations. I thought I should mention that from the start…

I contemplated posting a photo a day, but realistically that would annoy people’s social media walls as well as give me an added stress and responsibility for each day. So instead, I thought I’d do them in batches of 10 or so…

It’s a challenge at a busy time in my life. But it’s good to have a hobby at the end of each week, right? And right now, it’s good to have something to take my mind off things! So starting soon, I’ll post the first batch of my LEGO Creativity Challenges.

And on a separate (but not entirely unrelated), if you fancy a LEGO Minfigure of you – why not check out my personalised Minifigure-making business at www.buildmemini.co.uk. Shameless plug over.
