cover-webFilmed at Easter on the Coast 2013, a live production from the Active8 team. This film was made for reference and is edited from one static camera with an internal microphone. It, does however, retell the story well and provides a perfect record of the event. The DVD should go into production by late May 2013. We can start production with as little as 10 orders. The more orders that are received, the quicker it will get done!

Roadworks Remixed

Probably one of the most pointless videos you’ll ever see. But, hey, how often do you get this footage opportunity from the comfort of your own office.

This week, I had the joy of being distracted from my home office with the resurfacing of my road. Missing the first half being done, I was amazed at the amount of (noise &) machines it took to achieve it. So naturally, I grabbed my iPhone, hit record and then remixed the result. As anyone would.

I don’t own the music. It’s Good Time Remix by Owl City (Wideboys Club remix).

Please Don’t Kill TV

image taken from http://www.crimsontear.com/tvseries/primeval-new-world/img/seriesback.jpgDear American TV Networks,

Firstly I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your fantastic productions for the big screen and television. Often I am wow’d by the result, you do a fantastic job. But whilst we are on the note of fantastic, please note that your ratings aren’t the only ratings. And you have killed too many fantastic characters, shows and concepts.

Let me explain. I understand that the ratings of a TV show can damage your ego somewhat, but you are forgetting a large portion of people are outside of your rating count. Case and point, the UK. I don’t know whether or not any consideration for us Brits or beyond is taken into account or not – but I would say not. We have lost countless fantastic shows thanks to your precious method of measuring a show’s success.

I’d like to take a moment to remember these awesome shows that were axed by your heavy-handedness a swift decision-making (and these are just ones in my lifetime)…. Firefly, Flash-Forward, 4400, Primeval: New World, 30 Rock. And that’s just to name a few of my personal frustrations.

So it is with a heavy heart, I ask – no, beg – please let us have some of these shows back. I don’t care if they come back through Netflix or straight to DVD – I just want to know what happens in Flash-Forward and I just want to see more dinosaurs from Primeval (#SavePrimevalNW). And if you don’t care about those, please oh please consider your actions before cancelling your next TV show.

I fear, based on your ratings, that one of my all-time favourite comedy’s is likely to get the next chop.
I love Rules of Engagement – don’t kill it please.

Yours, running-out-of-things-to-watch,
Sholdstock.

Brighton Marathon Videos #1

I have many friends and acquaintances (and one family member) running the Brighton Marathon this year. Taking place in just two weeks time, I was asked to follow my college mate, Blaker and make a short film for him to help raise sponsorships. The final mixes ended with two possible parodies. They were both so good – we kept them both. The first one, Rocky, is here for your enjoyment. The second one will be posted here next week. And all I can say is that it will be one incredible “montage”… But for now – enjoy a bit of Rocky.

McDonald’s Monopoly – The Rare Stickers

mcdonalds-monopoly-the-rare-ones-01 mcdonalds-monopoly-the-rare-ones-02 mcdonalds-monopoly-the-rare-ones-03

McDonalds Monopoly… A definite highlight of my year (sad I know). It’s no secret to those who know anything about me, I’m a big fan of fast food. Yes, yes I know – healthy lifestyle = longer life… But quicker food = more time to do stuff that’s important. Weak arguement, so I won’t bother going any further with that one. The main reason for this post is that McDonald’s Monopoly is back – along with the best pudding of the year – The Creme-Egg McFlurry. Any Brit will tell you – there is no greater dessert than that of the Mcflurry swirled with that thick, dense orange sauce and Cadbury chocolate shards. And since it only comes about four weeks in a year, it’s time to make the most of it. But that’s not what this post is about…

To those not familiar with the McDonalds Monopoly, you may not know how it works. Basically for each set of colours (or stations) on the game board, there is always one sticker which is the rare one. The others will be easy to find and plentiful in number. The rare ones, are the ones that mean prizes. So, using my already-full game board, I thought I would share which stickers are the ones to watch for:

Brown – Old Kent Road
Light Blue – Euston Road
Pink – Whitehall
Orange – Vine Street
Red – Stand
Yellow – Coventry Street
Green – Bond Street, James Bond Street
Dark Blue – (obviously) Mayfair
Stations – Liverpool Street

You can also win some of these by just an instant win, along with a bunch of free food etc. But I have to be honest, this year McDonald’s seem to be a lot stingy-er than normal. Chances of a useful instant win (i.e. not a useless 20% off buyagift.com when you spend £20) a slim – so count your blessings if you do get one.

So there you have it. If you find any of the above, congrats- you’ve basically won something. Now comes that cold-sweat moment where you think you threw one of those away…
